ROULETTE MEDIA

Roulette Media Ltd has been formed as an umbrella company to three independent media business vehicles - Roulette Records, Roulette Film/TV and UYC Productions. Each has its own specific and creative focus whilst simultaneously following a core ethos which mirrors the permaculture ethos of ‘Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share’. The Company will always look for, and practice, an equitable approach in all that it does and one of its main objectives will be to embrace and nurture new and emerging talent.

OUR ETHOS

Roulette Media have created a company based on the ethics and principles of permaculture.

This is the foundation of the organisation and can be neatly summed up as

"Earth care, people care, fair share". These permaculture ethics give purpose to our work, and connect us with others who are also working towards a fairer, healthier and more harmonious human culture.

EARTH CARE - CARE OF THE EARTH

Provision for all life systems to continue and multiply.

Permaculture works with natural systems, rather than in competition with them. It uses methods that have minimal negative impact on the Earth’s natural environment. In everyday life, this may involve buying local produce, eating in season, and cycling rather than driving. It’s about choices we make, and how we manage the land. It’s about designing and creating healthy systems

that meet our needs without damaging the planet.

PEOPLE CARE - CARE OF THE PEOPLE

Provision for people to access those resources necessary to their existence.

This is about ensuring the wellbeing of both individuals and communities. As individuals, we need to look after ourselves and each other so that as a community we can develop environmentally friendly lifestyles.

FAIR SHARE

SETTING LIMITS TO POPULATION AND CONSUMPTION & DEVELOPMENT OF EQUITABLE COLLABORATION

By governing our own needs, we can set resources aside to further the above principles. It’s about working to achieve a stable human population, using a number of key strategies. Including:

  • Equitable resource sharing – including fair policies on creative ownership models, financial collaboration and creative development

  • ‘Time Bank’ resource development

  • Talent/creative mentorship programmes

  • Cooperative/Collaborative business development options

  • Reinvestment of resources into shared value projects to support/encourage positive community growth

This third ethic recognises that:

  • a. The Earth’s resources are limited.

  • b. These resources need to be shared amongst many beings.

Permaculture seeks to divide resources fairly amongst people, animals and plants alike, not forgetting future generations who will stable resources just as much as we do now.

It’s 'one planet living'.

ROULETTE RECORDS

Roulette Records is a dedicated artists support and management company. The label had it's official launch in November 2016. The core objective for the company is to collaborate with artists and create a bespoke partnership that will ensure they (the artists) are given the best possible opportunities to deliver their artistic creations and achieve the next step (or steps) in their artistic development.

The company develop independent projects with artists allowing them to springboard toward the next milestone on their artistic journey. Giving the artist autonomy to work on individual projects without tying them into a long term contract allows flexibility for both parties.

We believe this model is a much healthier and fairer approach than the currently accepted industry model. Allowing artists flexibility to explore their creativity with the support of an independent company that has people and music at its heart.

ROULETTE FILM

Roulette Films (RF) is a new UK based film production subsidiary company. RF aims to produce dynamic, innovative films that will have commercial, theatrical and festival appeal. Championing daring, edgy filmmakers with drive and passion is paramount for RF. Roulette Films will therefore develop projects that allow film makers to:

  • Investigate, without compromise, complex and nuanced themes and translate them into understandable and compelling films.

  • Support marginalised and vulnerable people they come into contact with in the course of their work.

  • Support the fair recompense for all crew and production team members following the sale/licencing of any film produced by Roulette Films.

  • Listen and learn through all aspects of the production of a film.

  • Maintain independence pertaining to the treatment and development of ideas for the films they/we produce.

Currently Roulette Films have a slate of projects ready for development from 2017 UYC Productions
